Dogtooth Movie Review & Film Summary (2010)

"Dogtooth” is a bizarre fantasy that takes the concept of home schooling to squirmy extremes. Some home schoolers try to limit what their children can learn, and others attempt to broaden it. The parents in “Dogtooth” have passed far beyond such categories, into the realms of home psychopathology. No name is given for the family or any of its members. These involve a father, a mother, a brother and two sisters. They live in a large, affluent home behind a very high wall and a gate, which is always locked. Only the father ever leaves, driving to the factory he owns.

Freedom Song Review

ByJames Brundage Long and annoying have been the boasts of TNT of its status as "the best movie studio on television. " With that celebrity narrator whose voice you know by heart and whose name always escapes you, TNT's advertisements for its latest western directed by Bill Pullman, or, in this case, Gandhi-rip off starring Danny Glover pop up right in the middle of the TV edit for an old movie that you could probably go without seeing and normally cause people like me to switch to the upper-channel echelon of HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and The Movie Channel.

The Duke Reviews & Ratings - IMDb

Write review Index 10 reviews in total  12 out of 15 people found the following review useful: Author: (remobec) from Southern California 9 July 2002 The Duke is a very silly film--a dog becoming a duke! But it's a very fun movie. It has some of those corny pranks that many kids movies have, but (thankfully!) no bodily function jokes, as so many animal movies feel compelled to have! Mostly, it's just dogs being dogs and people being. . . well, people. The 'good guys' are likeable and appealing. The 'bad guys' are ridiculous, and of course, the pun of many jokes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron review

Share on Facebook Tweet Share Pin Share The Avengerswas the film that made me fall in love with Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. It was the scene when Agent Coulson died, and our comic book heroes turned on each other — backbiting, blaming, lashing out as their center collapsed. After five and a half movies’ worth of comic book acrobatics and space villains, we were suddenly watching just a handful of scared people in a room, acting all too human. And Icared. Given that we were dealing with larger-than-life characters like Thor and Captain America, it was nothing short of a miracle.

Foxcatcher - Movie Reviews

In the back hour, the music quietly turns the screws, and Miller stops letting the air in, and I realized that a knot had formed in my chest. Peter Labuza The Film Stage There is an unspoken emptiness that hangs boldly over Foxcatcher, which is sure to be one of the subtly darkest films made by a major Hollywood studio this year. Kong Rithdee Bangkok Post In the end, nevertheless, it's the three male leads that bring the human story to the foreground; to me, Channing Tatum's proto-Homo-Sapiens wrestler/caveman is startling to watch.

The Monuments Men Movie Review (2014)

"The Monuments Men" tests the proposition that an appealing cast can put almost any script across. Near the start of this World War II drama about Yanks searching for art stolen by the Germans, star George Clooney asks, "Who will make sure that the statue of David is still standing and the Mona Lisa is still smiling?" and the audience thinks, "Why you, George, and your merry band of character actors playing over-the-hill soldiers, and us, if we can tag along too. " By the midway point, that rah-rah sentiment has downshifted to, "You guys, I guess—and where are we now?" By the end, it's something like, "Wake me when you find that statue you're always talking about.

The Dirty Picture, Ragini MMS, Hate Story, Murder - Are these films soft porn?

“Indians love sex. But don’t tell them that they love it. It is equivalent to serving alcohol mixed in a glass of soft drink. So do the trick and we Indians will accept sex readily even if the form is changed,” said Mahesh Bhatt on a talk show, contorting his face with great passion while debating whether Indians are ready to accept sex in cinema. Recently the Supreme Court issued notices to various ministries of the central government on a PIL seeking modification of Internet laws to make watching pornography a non-bailable offence in the wake of increasing sexual assaults on women.
